In addition, the majority of FE colleges and independent schools within Scotland are members of our organisation. Find out more about SSERC in our information leaflet.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to complete the survey related to the appeal and functionality of the SSERC website. We will be using this valuable feedback as part of our website redesign programme.
A STEM Education and Training Strategy
The Government’s Strategy was launched by the Minister for Further Education, Higher Education and Science on 26th October 2017. The Strategy sets out an ambitious vision for STEM Education and Training for the next five years.
We are delighted to see that support for SSERC’s professional learning activities feature prominently in the Strategy. Within SSERC, we are developing our own plans in support of the Strategy, and we look forward to working with colleagues from across Government, Local Authorities, Schools and Colleges in order to ensure that our CLPL programmes continue to meet the needs of the STEM educational community.
The Strategy and associated documentation are available to download at: http://www.gov.scot/Publications/2017/10/1386/downloads.
Survey of professional development activities
In October 2017 we undertook a survey of participants on all SSERC CPD courses which have been held since August 2011 and the summary data is available here. We are grateful to all those who took the time to complete the survey and provide us with a rich source of information. We will be reflecting on the comments received and use these as we plan for the future.
SSERC has just completed its annual report of professional development activities for the period April 2016 - March 2017. Why not download the report and see what we have been up to? Copies of the report can be accessed here.
